Just as a professional career evolves, our client relationships are also evolutionary in nature. Much of the work we end up doing with our clients is very complex and is often sensitive in nature. However, the relationship does not start that way – instead, it evolves over time as the comfort level increases.
Almost every client relationship starts with an informal conversation. Most introductions come from a common acquaintance or as a referral from another satisfied client. Many times, depending, of course, on the level of urgency, the introductory period and “sales cycle” is quite long, and that is done intentionally to create as much comfort as possible before engaging in the working relationship. We are perfectly OK with having multiple preliminary visits, during which we will attempt to answer questions and address as many of your concerns as possible before ever asking for your business or starting the working relationship. As eager as we are to be of help to you and to your organization, we want to first take every measure to assure that you are comfortable with us and to have you feel as if you know us.
We look forward to meeting you and to speaking with you about your situation and your needs. Be assured that any such exploratory visits will be both totally confidential and complimentary. Many times, clients need to “try us on” and “wear us around for a while” before engaging, and since we completely understand that desire, we will give you plenty of time and space while you make your decision. However, if your situation requires more immediate action, be assured we will move as quickly as needed and with the appropriate sense of urgency.
In short, we’ll meet you on your terms, we’ll proceed at your pace, and we will make every effort to answer your questions and address your issues before asking you to engage.
